A new chapter for Loeb's
My name is Bernie Fallon and my wife Isabel and I purchased Loeb's from the Albert family in 2019. First, let me say how honored and blessed we are to carry on this jewel that Earl and Leslie Albert owned for 50 years, to now be the stewards of this historic community resource.
Our vision is to carry on Loeb's traditions, while building a store that is more organic and more locally sourced. We believe the more we can keep food off trucks, the better it will taste to you and the better it will be for this planet we all share.
Change takes time so bear with us. Our goal is to make concrete progress every month, to build this wonderful, iconic store into a local destination that is the closest, most convenient place to shop for folks who live in or are visiting Lenox, the Stockbridge Bowl and beyond. Think of us when you need quality groceries, a delicious sandwich, locally-sourced produce, a Tanglewood picnic, a bottle of wine, or any of the thousands of items we stock on our shelves.
We know you have options in the Berkshires. We would be honored if you would consider Loeb's as one of yours.
A family tradition
In the height of the Great Depression, Tom and Francis Fallon purchased the building that was to become the West Stockbridge Public Market. They had been running a mobile meat truck for several years, serving Western Massachusetts and Eastern New York.
The Fallon family ran the market until the mid-1960s, and returned to the location when Bernie Fallon, Loeb's new owner, took over the market in 2003. He sold the business in 2010. When the opportunity arose to purchase Loeb's, he and Isabel jumped at it. They've spent the last year building on this great foundation by creating a new vision for Loeb's. They are applying all they learned over three generations in the grocery space to create a new shopping experience, one that's aligned with the times and serves your interest with integrity and convenience.
