ABOUT US
In 1959 Leo and Marion Loeb created a brand-new store in the location where an old Victorian house stood. The new store was large, modern and ahead of its time selling fresh produce, dairy, a large selection of groceries and freshly cut meats.
During their tenure, the Loeb’s ran a great business. About 11 years in, they offered a job to a young butcher named Earl Albert. Albert agreed to work for Loeb’s upon the condition that if they sell the business, he gets the first right to buy.
The very next year, to Earl’s surprise, the store was for sale. Earl and Lesley Albert bought Loeb’s keeping the name the same. Earl and Lesley had a tremendous run of more than 50 years as a full-service grocery store while creating a phenomenal sandwich business.
The Market was sold in 2019 and is now owned and operated by Bernie and Isabel Fallon. The Fallon’s desire to work as hard with the same integrity as the previous owners. After 63 years, this grocery store is still in the heart of Lenox serving the community in the same way with fresh produce, dairy, freshly cut meats, groceries and that spectacular sandwich menu.
The Fallon’s unique addition meets the demand of today by increasing the grocery inventory adding 5,000 natural and organic items SKU’s to the store. We welcome you and hope that you have a wonderful experience visiting Loeb’s Fresh Market.
